Construction Complete for Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites in Woburn
Construction is now complete on the dual-branded Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Hotel in Woburn. The new six-story, 147,780-square-foot building boasts 235 total rooms, with 132 Hampton rooms and 103 Homewood suites. The hotel is part of the Woburn Landing redevelopment project, which was built on previously contaminated land and required special permitting. The property has incorporated numerous contemporary amenities for guests shared across both the Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn, including an indoor swimming pool, business, and fitness center, along with terraces, bars, lobbies, and kitchens designated for each hotel brand.

Onyx Hotel Addition Now Under Review
The proposed 9-story addition to the existing 112-room Onyx Hotel at 155 Portland Street is now under review. The roughly 40,000 square foot addition would include 77 new hotel rooms plus 2,000 square feet of ground-floor flexible retail/restaurant space and a rooftop amenity space. The project is designed to minimize disruption to existing hotel operations, as the existing hotel is expected to remain open during the duration of the construction period which is expected to begin in the 3rd quarter of 2020.

Haymarket Hotel Secures $75 Million in Financing
Just five days after a building permit was granted, the Haymarket Hotel development has secured $75 million in financing from Citizens Bank.
The 145,000 square foot Haymarket Hotel building will bring 225 hotel rooms and around 9,600 square feet of retail to a presently vacant 1.2-acre parcel located along the Greenway at the intersection of the North End and Downtown Boston. Hotel guest amenities will include a fitness center and meeting space and 1,800 square foot roof deck.

Building Permit Pulled for Haymarket Hotel
A building permit valued at over $58M has been pulled for the Haymarket Hotel to be located at 99 Blackstone Street along the Greenway. The new hotel will feature 225 rooms along with around 9,600 square feet of restaurant and retail space. The development team will also sublease 1,600 square feet of space in the building to the Haymarket Pushcart Association for storage space.

Interior Finishing Nearly Complete for First Units at NEMA Boston
Interior finishing is wrapping up for the first units at NEMA Boston in the Seaport. The 414 unit apartment project will offer studios through three bedrooms currently ranging in price from around $2450 up through $8770 per month. NEMA will also feature around 2,500 square feet of retail, innovation, and lobby space on the ground floor along with parking for 144 cars.

31 Story Tower Under Review for 290 Tremont St.
The 31-story, 426,500 square foot mixed-use tower proposed at 286-290 Tremont Street in Chinatown is officially under review. Plans call for a 100% income-restricted residential tower with up to 171 affordable units a mix of rentals and condos, a hotel with up to 200 rooms, up to 340 off-street vehicle parking spaces, 2,500 square feet of retail/cafe space, and approximately 8,000 square feet of community space. Approximately 110 units at 290 Tremont are a direct result of the IDP requirements in the Winthrop Center project.
The development team, of Millennium Partners, in partnership with Corcoran Jennison, Asian Community Development Corporation, and Tufts Shared Services, Inc. hopes to commence construction in the second quarter of 2021, with initial occupancy by the second quarter of 2023.

CO Issued for Moxy Hotel
A certificate of occupancy has been issued for The Moxy Hotel with first guests expected in early October. The 24-story tower features 346 "micro" guest rooms, each room at the measuring in at around 175 square feet. Amenities at the Moxy include a rooftop bar and lounge as well as meeting rooms, a kitchen and dining area and a fitness center.

LOI Filed for Onyx Hotel Addition
Boylston Properties has filed an LOI to expand the Onyx Hotel, which they acquired for $46.755M this past June. The proposed addition would be 8 stories high and contain around 77 new guest rooms. Along with the addition, plans will also call for ground-level retail/restaurant space, on what is currently a small surface parking lot adjacent to the hotel. The scope of work will also involve a reorganization and renovation of the existing hotel lobby.

Fire Alarm Permit Issued for Moxy Hotel
With expected opening just around the corner, the permit for the fire alarm system at the Moxy Hotel in Downtown has been pulled. The $800K permit covers the install of alarms throughout the 346 guest rooms and the amenity spaces within the 24-story tower.

1241 Boylston Street Hotel Approved
The BPDA has approved the proposed hotel set to replaced the gas station at 1241 Boylston Street in Fenway. The hotel will feature 184 guest rooms along with 4,600 square feet of retail space to include a restaurant. 82 parking spaces will be included in a below-grade garage and plans also call for a pick-up and drop-off area.

NEMA Boston Reaches Final Stages of Construction
With an expected opening in just a few months construction is in its final stages for NEMA Boston in the Seaport. Exterior work is nearly complete with all windows and facade in place except for those areas around the hoist crane. The project will feature apartments ranging in size from 375 square foot studios through 1500+ square feet three-bedroom, 2 bathroom homes listed at over $9000 per month. Luxury resident amenities at NEMA Boston, housed on the 21st floor of the building, include a fitness center, chef's kitchen, arcade, and co-working space.
