City Council Approves Apartment Community in St. Petersburg

 

 

The St. Petersburg City Council approved the plans by local developer Porter Development for an apartment community with affordable housing in St. Petersburg. The community, which will be built on the former Raytheon site, will offer 1,058 apartment units, with 30% (318) designated as workforce units. Half of the workforce units will be available to those making less than 80% of the median income and the rest will be designated for those making less than 120% of the area median income. The community, which will be constructed in three phases, will include 11 four-story buildings and a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom floor plans with some carriage houses above garages and 1,788 parking spaces on the 29-acre site. Phase 1 & 2 will be constructed at the same time and will include 662 units and 1,147 parking spaces. Phase 3 consists of 10.29 acres and 5 buildings with a total of 396 units and 695 parking spaces. Community amenities will include a clubhouse, fitness center, three pools, a playground, courtyards, and bicycle parking.
