Master Plan Approved for 7 Building Dorchester Development
Another major project is taking steps forward in Dorchester, with the Planned Development Area application approved for 35-75 Morrissey Boulevard. The 7-building project would include over 1.5 million square feet of mixed-use development, residential, retail, and lab/office space. Three different parks are planned for the site, as well as a ‘civic plaza’ which is imagined to be used for things like farmer’s markets and outdoor recreation. The project is estimated to have 585 residential units, at least 20 percent of which will be income-restricted.
As plans progress, each building will go through the Article 80 review process in separate phases of the development. This project will be phased and constructed over approximately five to ten years, with construction likely to begin in 2025.
