Scape Presents Updated Plans for 2 Charlesgate West: Taller Tower Proposed

Scape has filed updated plans for the 400+ unit mixed-use tower planned at 2 Charlesgate West in Fenway. Over the past year, the developer has embarked on a comprehensive transformation of the project design to respond to City agency and community comments and needs. Major changes to the project include an increase in the building height from 23 stories to 30 stories along with changes to the unit mix to allow for more larger units.

Additional changes to the 2 Charlesgate West project include adjustments to the facade to introduce traditional masonry fabric and reduction in exterior glass to remain contextual with the surrounding neighborhood. The project now includes no parking spaces with residents encouraged to take advantage of public transportation and significant infrastructure provided for bicycle facilities, including bike storage (408 interior spaces), visitor bike parking (84 spaces), and bike maintenance. 

Per the updated filings, the development team hopes to begin construction the first quarter of 2025, with a duration of approx. 24 months.
