Wesley-Lamb Permanent Supportive Housing Community Awarded Low-Income Housing Tax Credits

The Wesley-Lamb Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) Community was recently awarded $1.26M in low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC) from Virginia Housing to build a five-story residential/mixed-use community with 54 apartments serving single individuals (primarily studio apartments) in Fairfax, VA.

The development will serve people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across jurisdictional lines. The property will house residents with very low incomes, at or below 30% of the Area Median Income (AMI) ($31,650 for a single person, according to HUD’s 2023 regional data), while 48 project-based vouchers awarded by the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority (FCRHA) will subsidize rents up to 50% AMI.

Residents are expected to be mainly seniors or people with disabilities. The ground floor will contain office space to accommodate an expansion of The Lamb Center’s jobs programs to assist guests in finding and sustaining employment.
