The project will feature 17 rental units along with 1,735 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The units range in size from one to three bedrooms and a few offer private roof decks. Construction is set to be complete this summer.

Local real estate developer and manager The Danesh Group proposes to construct a new four-story mixed-use building on Harvard Street in Brookline located in the heart of Coolidge Corner. A Site Approval Application for the project has been filed with MassHousing and is now under official review.
35 residences proposed steps to future Union Square MBTA Green Line station
Developer The Danesh Group of Brookline has filed a Special Permit Application (SPA) with the City of Cambridge to construct Columbia Court, a four-story mixed-use building in Cambridge's Inman Square neighborhood located at 305 Webster Avenue steps to the future Union Square MBTA Green Line station; the following is a link to the SPA. The building would contain 35 residential units and 1,780 square feet of retail. The City of Cambridge's Planning Board will hold a public hearing for the proposal on Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at 7:00 p.m; the following is a link to the Notice of Public Hearing. The Danesh Group recently acquired Rubin's Deli in Brookline, a former Kosher deli which operated for nearly 90 years, for $1.718 million. A similar 35-unit building by The Danesh Group was approved for construction on the project site in May 2015 that would have incorporated an existing Art Deco automotive repair building; the following are links to the Notice of Decision and Design Plans for the former proposal. Due to structural deficiencies, The Danesh Group now proposes to demolish the existing building and construct a new four-story building.
Rubin’s Deli in Brookline, closed Friday, sells for $1.718 million to real estate investor Danesh Group
This past Tuesday (August 2nd, 2016), Rubin’s Deli in Brookline, located at 500 Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner, was sold to local real estate investor, developer and manager The Danesh Group for $1.718 million as recorded in the Norfolk County Registry of Deeds. The Kosher deli operated for nearly 90 years on Harvard Street. The 2,307 square foot single-story deli building stands on a 6,871 square foot parcel located steps to the Harvard Avenue station on the MBTA Green Line.
The Boston Globe reports that The Danesh Group is “doing the best [they] can to help save Rubin’s.” The deli’s former owner reportedly opted to sell the property to The Danesh Group after rebuffing several purchase offers from other real estate developers. The Danesh Group is reportedly negotiating with potential operators who would keep Rubin’s open, but have not finalized plans. “I saved Rubin’s from being knocked down and turned into condos,” says David Danesh, Principal at The Danesh Group. The Danesh Group recently opened 45 Marion Street, a new 64-unit luxury apartment building, in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner.
