The group's combined real estate expertise covers all aspects of the development process – from site identification, through construction, to lease-up and operations with a background that is rooted heavily in the five boroughs with an emphasis on multi-family affordable rentals. Also, JCAL  has a successful track record in the new construction of two, three, and four-family houses, including larger mixed-use projects. Though JCAL has developed projects throughout New York City, its primary emphasis is in The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Northern Manhattan. Currently, making a significant commitment to the redevelopment of the Mott Haven/Port Morris neighborhood. These projects include a series of small-scale mixed-use development projects as well as a large-scale luxury building.
