Sanford Weiss, the company's principal, has been active in Hoboken and Jersey City since 1978 pursuing his goal of developing, financing, building, selling, and renting, multi-family, market-rate housing units in the growth corridor near Manhattan. Since then, the Manhattan Building Company has been involved in over $1 billion dollars of real estate development. The firm often partners with Urban Architecture LLC for the design of its projects.
