Foundation work is underway for the renovation of the Abbott Building in the heart of Harvard Square. The updated building will feature over 32,000 square feet of office space plus 33,000 of retail. The project is expected to wrap up in the first quarter of 2021.

43K SF Retail/Office Project Proposed for Newbury Street Parking Lot
L3 Capital has proposed a 43,5000 square foot retail and office building on the surface parking lot at 149 Newbury Street. The new building would feature 17,500 square feet of retail space and approximately 26,000 square feet of office space. L3 acquired the parking lot in July 2019 for $40M.

A permit valued at $2.84M has been pulled for the fit-out of the upcoming WeWork space at the renovated One Milk Street. The permit calls for new finishes to the 3rd-6th floors of the building, around 17,200 square feet in total. Work will also include modifications to HVAC, fire, electrical and plumbing.

$1.55M Permit Pulled for Future Chefs Fit-Out at The Clarion in Dorchester
Shawmut Design & Construction has pulled a permit valued at $1.55M for the fit-out of 5,700 square feet of ground-floor retail space at The Clarion in Dorchester. The space will be home to Future Chefs youth enrichment and culinary training program. The build-out will consist of a trade school and ground floor catering establishment with accessory offices.

PNF Filed For Langham Hotel Upgrades
While construction kicked off in April 2019, a project notification form has now been submitted for the updates to the historic Langham Hotel. The Project will include renovation of the guest rooms, an updated ground floor lobby area, upgraded conference facilities, a new ballroom, and restyled restaurants. Five of the 317 guest rooms will also be repurposed into a new club lounge. On the exterior, cosmetic upgrades to the marquee, lighting, and signage will also be included. Construction is expected to wrap up in the third quarter of this year.

Steel framing is ongoing for the new Herb Chamber Jaguar Land Rover Dealership along Comm. Ave. in Allston. The 192,000 square foot project will include space for showrooms, offices, service bays, and vehicle storage. The property will also include parking for nearly 600 vehicles.

$4M Permit Pulled for Renovations at 341 Newbury Street
A permit valued at $4M has been pulled for renovations at 341 Newbury Street. The project will include the removal and infill of the existing automobile elevator and construction of white box office space and fitness room. New windows and a skylight will also be added. The 41,000+ square foot office/retail building was purchased by Gazit Globe for $51 million this past January.

101 South St. at Boynton Yards Officially Breaks Ground
On Monday, December 2nd, Leggat McCall hosted an official ground breaking ceremony for 101 South Street, the first building in the Boynton Yards redevelopment. 101 South will feature 290,000 square feet of state of the art lab space over four levels of underground parking and first floor retail and community arts spaces. The project is located adjacent to Union Square and will certainly benefit from the upcoming green line station set to open in 2021.

Site Work Continues at 101 South St. at Boynton Yards
Site work is ongoing at 101 South Street as part of the Boynton Yards development in Somerville. The class A speculative lab building will feature 290,000 square feet of space aimed at emerging life sciences companies. This project will also include four levels of underground parking and ground-floor retail and community arts spaces. Construction of the initial building and related infrastructure and open space improvements started in June 2019 and will approximately 2 years, aligning the opening with the completion of the planned MBTA Green Line station in Union Square.

One Milk Street has been refinanced via Valley National Bank for $27 million.
The property features a 45,000-square-foot historic building located at the corner of Washington and Milk Streets in Downtown Crossing. The repositioned building features a modern office and retail space. One Milk Street is also home to one of Boston's WeWork locations.
Retail is located on One Milk Street’s ground floor, with office spaces on the second through sixth floors. Available office space ranges from 2,856 to 28,775 square feet.
