Facade & Window Install Progressing at Somerville High School
Facade & window install is progressing for the renovation and addition to the Somerville High School. The building which was originally constructed in 1895 and renovated in 1986 will now see around 82,000 square feet updated again along with the addition of 322,000 new space. The new campus will offer space for 1,600 students and is expected to be complete in May 2021.

Exterior Work Ongoing for Addition to Somerville High School
Exterior work is ongoing for the addition to Somerville High School. The multi-phased project will preserve the original 1895 school and the front of the 1929 War Memorial Building while adding over 320,000 square feet of space. The new campus will provide a state-of-the-art learning environment for nearly 1,600 students. Construction on the new building, phase 2 of the project is expected to wrap up in August 2020.

Cape Cod 5 Opens Banking Center in Barnstable
Last week, Cape Cod 5 celebrated the grand opening of their new “HQ5” on Route 132 in Barnstable. The 80,000 square foot headquarters will be home to over 300 employees and has been designed with employee wellness and sustainability in mind. Amenities within the 11-acre campus include a 217 car parking garage, walking trails, fitness center, community room, and outdoor courtyard. The new building also features over 16,000 square feet of solar panels on the roof which could generate over 400,000 kilowatts each year. Bridging the gap between sustainability and employee wellness the building also features View Glass throughout, which will automatically tint to allow in maximum natural light for the bank’s employees while cutting down on the need for artificial lighting and reducing HVAC costs. “This new campus serves as a physical symbol of Cape Cod 5’s ongoing investment in and service to the unique communities of the Cape, Islands and Southeastern Massachusetts,” said Dorothy A. Savarese, Chair and CEO of Cape Cod 5. “The foundation of this headquarters building is actually the mission and values that have driven this Bank for 165 years. Windows Going in at Slip45 Condos, Final Building in Clippership Wharf
Window install has started for the Slip45 condos, the final building in Clippership Wharf along East Boston's Waterfront. When complete the 12-acre development will feature 478 residences in total along with over 3,000 square feet of retail and community space. Construction on this final building is expected to wrap up this coming summer.

Construction Continues for Somerville High School
Construction is rapidly moving forward for Somerville's new high school project. Along with new classroom space, the $256 million project will include an athletic field on the high school campus for the first time with a lighted turf field. Now 18 months into construction, the project is more than halfway completed ahead of the expected grand opening in May of 2021.

Gas Permit Pulled for Slip45 Condos at Clippership Wharf
The permit for gas service install has been pulled for the Slip45 Condos, the last building in the Clippership Wharf project in East Boston. Slip45 will offer luxury condos ranging in size from 513 square foot studios through 1195 square foot two-bedrooms. Construction on Slip45 is expected to wrap up in summer 2020.

Structural Steel Up for New Portion of Somerville High School
Following the demolition of an existing portion of the high school, structural steel and framing are now up for a new western addition of the building. When complete in May 2021 the new $256M school campus will provide a state-of-the-art, innovative learning environment for nearly 1,600 students.
According to the Building Committee Chair, Tony Pierantozzi, the bulk of the work that produces the loudest noise was completed during summer and school vacations to minimize with disruptions.

Clipperhsip Wharf Officially Opens
Earlier this week, Lendlease, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and other local officials celebrated the official opening of Clippership Wharf in East Boston. The new mixed-use project includes both apartments and condominiums, and a key new stretch of the East Boston Harborwalk featuring gathering spaces, public art, and climate-resilient features.
The mixed-use development project sits on a 12-acre East Boston Waterfront site overlooking Boston Harbor. The project consists of four buildings total and features 478 residences with approximately 30,200 square feet of retail and community space, including a cafe and a restaurant. Residences will include 398 apartments and 80 condominiums, including studios, one-bedrooms, and two-bedrooms.

Framing Nearly Complete for Slip45 Condos at Clippership Wharf
Framing is nearly complete and a permit has been pulled to bring temporary power to the final building at Clippership Wharf, the Slip45 condos. The luxury condos expected to be complete in summer 2020 will feature oversized windows to take advantage of the Harbor and city views along with lacquered cabinetry, stainless steel Bosch appliances, and quartz countertops and backsplashes.

CO Issued for First Buildings at Clippership Wharf
Certificates of occupancy have been issued for the first two buildings coming online at Clippership Wharf, the apartment building at 15 Jacobbe Road and the Slip65 condos. The apartment building features 209 units along with underground parking and resident amenity space. The Slip65 condos include 85 luxury homes, also with a below-grade garage that sold out in Slip65 condos sold out in just eight weeks.
Two additional buildings will complete the project, another smaller apartment block, and the Slip45 condos. When complete the waterfront development in East Boston will include 478 residences and around 30,000 square feet of retail and community space.

Apartments at Clippership Wharf Set to Open July 15th
The first apartments at East Boston's Clippership Wharf are set to open in just over 1 month on July 15th. In total there will be 284 rental residences on the waterfront site overlooking Boston Harbor. Residents of Clippership Wharf will have access to quite the array of indoor and outdoor amenities including a waterfront lounge with catering kitchen, an art gallery, boat dock, fitness center, and kayak center.
Construction is also ongoing for both Slip65 & Clip45 condos which will bring the total unit count on site to 478 residences.
