100+ Unit TOD Proposed in Melrose
Plans are under review for a transit-oriented multi-family development at 14 Tremont Street in Melrose. The property is just one parcel removed from the Melrose-Cedar Park Commuter Rail Station and is a short walk to Downtown Melrose. Plans call for a 5-story building to feature 107 residential units with 105 parking spaces. The proposed building would feature a spacious landscaped courtyard that will have outdoor amenities for residents, including seating and lounging areas, a shallow “wading” pool, and possibly grilling stations. The development team is also proposing to have a rooftop garden area that would help reduce emissions of a property that is currently a paved heat island.
