145-Unit Mixed-Use Approved in the Bronx
An 11-story, mixed-use development, set for 660-668 East Fordham Road in the Bronx's Belmont neighborhood has NOT been vetoed by the NYC Mayor's office. In short, this means that the project is officially approved and building permits can now be obtained.
Developed by , the building is set to contain rental apartments, with approximately 28 units dedicated to affordable housing. In addition to residential space, it will have square feet of retail space. This would come in the form of a ground-floor food store as part of NYC's FRESH incentive program. Plans also call for an enclosed parking garage with enough room for vehicles.
Designed by J Frankl Architects, the structure will stand feet tall and total square feet. The project site spans 5 separate lots, and several existing structures will have to be demolished in order to make room for the new development.
