660-668 East Fordham Road Update 01/25/22

Public Review Progress for Belmont Mixed-Use Development

Applicant, Sean Daneshvar, of , is seeking a special permit, and a Community Chair Certification for an 11-story, mixed-use building at 660-668 East Fordham Road. Located in the Belmont neighborhood of the Bronx, the proposed development was designed by J Frankl Architects. If approved, the  square foot structure would contain roughly 20% affordable housing and  residential units. The special permit would waive required parking for affordable housing, and the Community Chair Certification would facilitate a FRESH food store (likely in place of the required parking area).

At this time, the application has been reviewed by the Community Board, Borough President, and the City Planning Commission (CPC). The CPC will now have to vote before it can be sent onwards to the City Council. If approved by the City Council, the application would then be sent to the NYC Mayor's Office, who would have the ultimate say, and can either issue the final stamp of approval or veto the project outright.
