Zoning Update for Belmont Mixed-Use Development

Applicant, Sean Daneshvar, of , is seeking a special permit, and a Community Chair Certification for an 11-story, mixed-use building at 660-668 East Fordham Road. Located in the Belmont neighborhood of the Bronx, the proposed development was designed by J Frankl Architects. If approved, the  square foot structure would contain roughly 20% affordable housing and  residential units. The special permit would waive required parking for affordable housing, and the Community Chair Certification would facilitate a FRESH food store (likely in place of the required parking area).

At this time, the submitted application has been reviewed by the Community Board, the Borough President, and the City Planning Commission (CPC). The CPC just held their vote, so it will now be passed along to the City Council. The City Council will have 50 days to hold a hearing and conduct a vote of their own. After the City Council, it will cross the desk of the NYC Mayor who can either veto the project or issue the final stamp of approval.
