16-Story Office/Lab Approved in Kendall Square
The Cambridge Planning Board has approved designs for Parcel C1, 25 Broadway within the Volpe Redevelopment project. Plans call for a 16-story, 430,000+ square foot office/lab project with ground-floor retail space. MIT’s commitment to sustainable development in the Volpe Redevelopment project is demonstrated in the C1 design to meet the rigorous requirements of the Massachusetts Stretch Code & Cambridge's Net Zero Action Plan. Sustainability is an integral part of the building’s design, with a projected 48% reduction in energy use over the baseline. In addition, the building is designed to be all-electric ready for future conversion.
