2100 Penn Awarded LEED Gold Certification
Sustainable Design Consulting has announced LEED Gold Core & Shell-level certification for 2100 Pennsylvania Ave NW. This 11-story office building in downtown DC was developed by Boston Properties and designed by WDG Architecture. Its location on the corner of 21st and Eye Streets NW provides walking or biking distance to diverse amenities and public transportation. The green roof and landscaped terraces reduce heat island effect and provide vegetated open space for tenants, while helping manage #stormwater for the 98th percentile of rainwater runoff on site. Furthermore, the project’s systems are projected to achieve 29.1% energy cost savings and 33.49% water savings compared to a baseline building.
