250K SF Clinical Building Proposed at Franciscan Children's in Brighton
Franciscan Children's Hospital in association with Boston Children's Hospital has filed plans for two development projects on the Brighton Campus. The projects include the construction of a new, approximately 250,000-square-foot clinical building and a new gymnasium with a relocated entrance to the existing Kennedy Day School to facilitate student drop-off needs.
The Clinical Building will be situated on the location of parking spaces and Building 7 which was constructed in 1949. The new Clinical Building will create state-of-the-art clinical spaces in which to care for patients with complex behavioral health and medical conditions and a new public face for FC. It will include both pediatric post-acute care and psychiatric inpatient care on multiple floors, as well as an entrance lobby with varied gathering spaces and key family resource areas for the campus, among other services to be defined. The construction of the Clinical Building will allow for needed expansion of these services to meet the growing need of children with behavioral health and complex medical conditions.
