Alexandria Acquires Allston Development Site
Alexandria Real Estate Equities has acquired 1200 Soldiers Field Road, the WBZ-TV studio site, in Allston for $7,000,000. National Development and Mount Vernon Company plan to build a mixed-use project on the site to include 700,000 square feet of life science space and an 85-unit apartment building. In December a permit was pulled to begin work on a new WBZ-TV studio although construction has not yet started. Once construction of the new studio is complete the older building will be demolished to open a large piece of land for the mixed-use project.
