Brooklyn DOT Operations Facility Given the Green Light
The NYC Mayors Office has just approved a site selection and acquisition request for a private property at 101 Varick Avenue in East Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Submitted by the New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) and co-applicant, the New York City Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), the approved request will facilitate the purchase of a sqft lot, improved with a sqft warehouse (containing an attached office building). The building will be utilized for new DOT Sidewalk Inspection and Management Citywide Concrete Field Operations facilities. A new Traffic Operations and Street Light facility will also find a home in the warehouse. Prior to Mayoral Approval, the application had to be reviewed and approved by the Community Board, Borough President, City Planning Commission, and City Council.
