City of Clearwater Approves $3.61 Million for Affordable Housing Community
Clearwater Gardens, a proposed affordable housing community in Clearwater, will receive $3.61 million, $610,000 from the city and $3 million from the Community Redevelopment Agency. Clearwater City Council unanimously approved the funding. Clearwater Gardens will offer 81 apartment units. The community, designed for residents earning between 30% and 80% of the area median income, will include 30 one-bedroom and 51 two-bedroom apartments. The units will range from 615 to 930 square feet. In addition to a two-story parking garage, community amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, coworking space, children’s game room and community garden. Construction is expected to start in July 2023, with completion in November 2024.
