Clark Breaks Ground on Metro Headquarters Redevelopment Project, 600 Fifth

Clark Construction Group joined representatives from the Rockefeller Group, Stonebridge, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro), and the District of Columbia to celebrate the groundbreaking of 600 Fifth, the redevelopment of Metro's headquarters. Clark is serving as the general contractor.

Located between Capital One Arena and the National Building Museum, the 600 Fifth office project includes a complete repositioning of the existing building with the addition of three floors, a modern façade redesign, rooftop and outdoor terraces, and new building systems.

The groundbreaking comes on the heels of the joint venture of Rockefeller Group and Stonebridge today closing a 99-year ground lease with Metro for the redevelopment of the property. The building has served as the headquarters for Metro for nearly 50 years.

Once complete, international law firm Crowell & Moring will serve as the new project’s anchor tenant.

Clark is set to deliver the project in 2025.
