Construction Delayed at Affordable Townhome Project in St. Petersburg
Construction has been put on hold at Shell Dash Townhomes, a townhome community that will add 10 affordable housing units to south St. Petersburg. The site has been cleared and a groundbreaking ceremony was held in December 2022, however, due to zoning, permitting issues and rising construction costs the project is on hold. No date has been given for the resumption. Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties, the City of St. Petersburg and Exact-Shell Dash LLC are partnering on the project. The three-bedroom, three-bath townhomes will be two stories and will have a single-car garage. Located along St. Petersburg’s 16th Street Business Corridor, the development borders the Campbell Park Neighborhood.
