Tampa developer Darryl Shaw and Washington, D.C. – based Kettler have obtained a $67.4 million loan from Valley National Bank, according to Hillsborough County records.  The loan will go towards the construction of the first 315 apartments in the proposed master planned development.  Groundbreaking is expected in early 2023.  Gas Worx would add as many as 5,000 homes, 500,000 square feet of office space and 150,000 square feet of retail space.  The Gas Worx project would connect Tampa’s historic Ybor City with the Channel District and the Water Street development.  Spread out over 50 acres, the development plans also include the redevelopment of a 70,000 square foot warehouse.  The project will be rolled out in stages and includes the demolition of the vacant Tampa Park apartment complex.
