Construction Set to Begin on Affordable Housing Community in St. Petersburg
Habitat for Humanity has received approval from the St. Petersburg City Council and permits have been issued for Shell Dash Townhomes. Construction is set to begin October 1. Shell Dash Townhomes will add 10 affordable housing units to south St. Petersburg. The site has been cleared and a groundbreaking ceremony was held in December 2022, however, due to zoning, permitting issues and rising construction costs the project was put on hold. Habitat for Humanity of Pinellas and West Pasco Counties, the City of St. Petersburg and Exact-Shell Dash LLC are partnering on the project. The three-bedroom, three-bath townhomes will be two stories and will have a single-car garage. Located along St. Petersburg’s 16th Street Business Corridor, the development borders the Campbell Park Neighborhood.
