Developer Revises Plans for New Mixed-Use Development in St. Petersburg
Developer Stoneweg has submitted revised plans for Coquina Key Plaza. The new mixed-use development would replace an existing strip mall. The new plans include nine four story buildings with 456 apartment units, 20% of which would be workforce housing, along with 20,000-square foot retail building in front of the apartments. Residential amenities will include a pool, clubhouse, fitness center, greenspace and a dog park. The plans will go before the St. Petersburg Development Review Commission on February 6, 2024. The original plans called for two seven-story apartment buildings with 465 apartments. The retail space will be anchored by a local grocery store and would include coffee shops and restaurants. Retail tenants could also include a salon, yoga studio, sandwich shop and pizzeria. The developer plans to begin construction on the first phase by the end of 2024. The first phase is expected to take 12-15 months to construct.
