Developer Scales Back Plans for Mirror Lake Condominium Project

The developer of Lake House Condominiums, a proposed condominium development near Mirror Lake in downtown St. Petersburg, has revealed scaled back plans for the development. The original plans, which called for an 18-story tower, were rejected by the St. Petersburg Development Review Commission in November 2022. The commission expressed questions about the height and how the building blended with other buildings in the area. The developers have acquiesced, and the newly revealed plans show the height has been reduced from 18 stories to 11 stories. The parking podium was reduced from five to three stories and the setback was increased to 16 feet. The developer has expressed in the application that the new plans are more compatible with neighboring properties. Under the new plans, the number of residential units has been reduced to 45 from the original 77 and the number of parking spaces is now 72, 62 less than originally planned. The first floor will include the lobby, retail space, garage entry, and pavilion that will serve as a meeting place. The parking garage will occupy the second and third floors, along with one residential unit per floor. The fourth floor will host amenities including a pool and terrace. The fifth through 10th floors will include six residential units per floor and the 11th floor will contain four penthouses. The revised plans will be before the Development Review Commission on April 3, 2024.
