Developers Break Ground on Affordable Housing Community in Bradenton

Developer Housing Trust Group, LLC and development partner AM Affordable Housing, a non-profit organization founded by NBA Hall Of Famer Alonzo Mourning, have broken ground on a new affordable housing community in Bradenton. Astoria on 9th, a 120-unit affordable housing community dedicated to seniors aged 62 and above, is under construction a mile from downtown Bradenton. The community will accommodate residents with an income at or below 22, 20, and 60 percent of the area median income (AMI). The five-story mid-rise community will feature a combination of one- and two-bedroom units. Community amenities include a clubhouse, cybercafé with a catering kitchen and bar, fitness center, dog park and surface parking. The community will also offer resident programs including housekeeping support, laundry services, grocery shopping assistance and adult literacy training. The location neat downtown Bradenton is close to shopping and dining venues and churches. Leasing is set to begin in Summer 24 with the first residents welcomed in Fall 2024.
