Developers Plan Mixed-Use Development in Union Central District

A team of developers, Virginia-based Kettler along with local developers Eastman Equity and Blake Investment Partners, have acquired a shopping center in St. Petersburg’s Union Central district. The plans are to build a new 300-unit apartment community with ground level retail. One of the two buildings will be demolished to make way for the apartment development, retail outparcels along Central Avenue and 450 parking spaces. The apartment community amenities include a pool, clubroom, fitness center and courtyard. The other existing retail building will be remodeled and remain as a retail property. The location on Central Avenue between 33rd and 34th streets is in the heart of the Union Central District, an area that is seeing redevelopment with plans for future development in the works.
