Development Site Sold, Plans Amended for 940 Channelside in Tampa

The development site of the second phase of The Place at Channelside has been sold and new plans have been submitted. The parcel at 940 Channelside Drive Tampa’s Channelside District was acquired by developer Framework Group, LLC from the Dynamic Group for $7.85 million according to Hillsborough County records. The county records show that Framework Group obtained a mortgage from SJP Investment Properties, LLC for $5.275 million. A rezoning permit had been filed by the previous developer Dynamik Group, Framework Group has submitted a new request to rezone the land with amended plans for the proposed mixed-use building.  The original plans called for a 32-story tower would offer 280 multi-family units along with 4,555 square feet of street-level commercial space and 3,890 square feet of storage for a total development space of 401,500 square feet. The revised plans call for a 29-story tower, reduce the retail space to 770 square feet and eliminate the storage space. The revised development would total 311,360 square feet.
