Development Team Selected for Langston Slater Redevelopment
Mayor Bowser's office has announced the selection of Douglass Community Land Trust to redevelop the roughly 30,000 square foot site of the Slater & Langston Elementary Schools. Development plans call for 55 mixed-income units, 43 rental apartments, and 12 townhomes, along with 21 parking spaces. Around 50% of the units would be designated affordable. In a statement, Mayor Bowser said “we are proud to be working with a community organization that is helping to preserve our city’s history and culture by ensuring families of all backgrounds and income levels have a future in Washington, DC.”
