Gazit Horizons Signs Sneaker & Streetwear Retailer Snipes to Fully Occupy 467 Washington in Downtown Crossing
Gazit Horizons Inc., a premier real estate company focused on the ownership, development, and management of retail, residential, and mixed-use properties in major urban markets and the US subsidiary of G City Ltd. (TASE: GCT), announced this week that it signed leading sneaker and streetwear retailer SNIPES to a long-term lease for a flagship location at 467 Washington Street in Boston’s Downtown Crossing neighborhood. The Snipes store, occupying the entire building of 10,500 SF, is the company’s first location in the center of the city of Boston, adding to its two existing stores in the greater Boston area.
“Snipes is an exciting retail use for this outstanding location in Downtown Crossing. We continue to see strong demand for great physical retail spaces in well-located locations with strong pedestrian activity, such as at 467 Washington Street,” said Zvi Gordon, CEO for Gazit Horizons. “We believe Snipes will be very successful in this location, an important cross-point in the city, where we currently have close to 800,000 visitors per week, and that it will provide a great retail experience to the community.”
The two-story store will open this fall and showcase some of the hottest streetwear and sneakers including Nike, Jordan, Adidas, and New Balance. This prime location with superior visibility will cater to the high volume of foot traffic the neighborhood is seeing from visitors, residents and workers. The pedestrian-only section of Washington Street is the heart of the neighborhood, featuring outdoor seating, a variety of street vendors, and is directly across from an entrance to the MBTA subway station serving both the busy Orange and Red lines.
