Map Amendment Under Review to Rezone Deanwood Metrorail Site
WMATA has filed a Map Amendment application to rezone the Deanwood Metrorail Site. The approximately 167,073 square foot property is currently home to a Metrorail station, bus turnaround, related buildings, daily surface parking for Metrorail users, and a “kiss and ride” drop-off area. The WMATA proposes to rezone the Property from the existing PDR-1 and RA-1 zones to the MU-5B zone. The MU zones are designed to provide facilities for housing, shopping, and business needs, including residential, office, service, and employment centers. The proposed Zoning amendment will positively impact the surrounding Area by supporting additional development on a highly underutilized site that is immediately adjacent to Metrorail.
