Master Plan Approved for 25 Acre Charlestown Waterfront Site
The Master Plan for the redevelopment of 425 Medford Street in Charlestown has been approved. The project, set to include 6 new buildings, will create a new mixed-use neighborhood along the Mystic River Waterfront. Plans call for a mix of office, retail, hotel, community space, and 500 residential units (400 apartments & 100 homeownership units). In support of resiliency goals, the project will create an integrated resiliency barrier along the waterfront built to 2070 flood resilience standards, as part of a new publicly accessible waterfront landscape that will include three new public parks. The project is expected to be constructed in multiple phases over 10-15 years.
