Here are BLDUP's most active* Boston-area new construction multifamily buildings as of May 2020. All of these buildings are either approved, under construction or recently completed. Each building contains either apartments or condominiums; a number of buildings are mixed-use and contain retail space.

1. Woburn Village
Woburn, MA
Projected Opening: 2021
Woburn Village is the redevelopment of the 23-acre mall parcel at the intersection of I-95/Route 126 and I-93 in Woburn. New plans call for updated retail space (around 175,000 square feet), a new movie theatre, and Avalon Woburn apartments. Avalon Woburn will include 350 apartments, a mix of 1, 2, and 3-bedroom layouts, 25% designated affordable at 80% AMI. 2. 323-345 Dorchester Avenue
South Boston, Boston, MA
Projected Opening: TBD
Proposed 317,000 square foot mixed-use project along Dorchester Ave. in South Boston. The 21-story building would include 265 residential units, 47,000 square feet of office space, 14,500 square feet of retail and parking for nearly 200 cars. 3. The Alcott
Bulfinch Triangle, Boston, MA

The Alcott is an upcoming 44-story, 469-unit residential apartment tower that replaces the Garden Garage. The tower will include approximately 20,000 square feet of common resident amenities and approximately 2,300 square feet of ground-floor retail space. 4. Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences

Projected Opening: Early 2022
The 33-story, Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel & Residences will be the first mixed-use property in North America for the world-renowned and iconic hospitality brand. The project will feature 147 guestrooms, 146 branded residences, and six food and beverage venues. Learn More>>>
5. The Sudbury

The Sudbury will offer luxurious homes for both renters and buyers with 368 apartments & 55 condos. The condos will range in size from 1738 to 2766 square feet, with just 5 homes per floor. Condo residents will also have access to an exclusive rooftop garden on the 48th floor. Conversion and expansion of an existing historic mill building built in 1905 into 258 loft-style studio, one- and two-bedroom apartment residences. The project will entail renovating the mill into 160 residences, and constructing a new six-story building featuring 98 residences and a 224-space parking garage. 8. Worcester Courthouse Redevelopment
Worcester, MA
Projected Opening: 2020
The historic Worcester Courthouse building that has been vacant since 2008 and dates back to 1843 is currently being converted into 114 mixed-income apartment residences. The redeveloped courthouse will feature apartments ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, with amenities including a resident club room, a fitness center, gallery, and workspaces for artists and programming space. Projected Opening: Summer 2021
Mira will feature 64 modern condos along with retail space on the first floor that will include an East Boston Museum Gallery and a cafe concept. The transit-oriented, mixed-use development consists of three buildings that contain 237 apartments, indoor and outdoor amenity spaces, and 6,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
