Lake House Condominiums Update 01/05/23

Mirror Lake Condominium Project Denied

The St. Petersburg Development Review Commission unanimously voted to reject the plans for Lake House Condominiums, a proposed condominium tower that would have risen over Mirror Lake in downtown St. Petersburg.  During a meeting on November 2, 2022, the commission raised questions about the height, scale and setback of the proposed an 18-story mixed-use development that would have featured 82 condominiums and an 840-square foot café.  The developer revised the plans. The new proposal increased the setback from Lake Mirror from 10 feet to 16 feet and lowered the podium from five to four floors. The number of parking spaces decreased from 131 to 99 and the number of units increased from 77 to 82. Ultimately, the commission decided that the building was not compatible with the local area, the mass of the building was too much for the surrounding streets.
