New Renderings Revealed for West Tampa Mixed-Use Development

New renderings have been unveiled for Rome Yard, an 18-acre mixed-use development along the Hillsborough River that will serve as a beacon for the revitalization of the West Tampa neighborhood. Rome Yard will offer 1,138 residential units, a mix of townhouses and apartments, 797 will be workforce and affordable housing. The residential units will also include 301 market rate units and 40 townhomes for sale. Additionally, over 17,000 square feet of commercial space, 30,000 square feet of amenity spaces, a job training center, the West Tampa Cultural Center & Art Pavilion will be added. The community amenities will include an activity green space, parks, BBQ areas, gardens, pools, walking paths, a children’s splash pad and more. The new riverwalk extension will connect to Rome Yard and “Cigar Tower”, a brick observation tower, will be constructed to honor the cigar factories that are a part of West Tampa’s Latin History. The development, a partnership between the Tampa Housing Department and Related Urban Development Group, will be built out over six years.
