Penthouse Addition Approved for 801 17th St. NW
Plans have been approved for a roughly 500-square-foot penthouse addition to the office property at 801 17th Street, NW. The 300,000+ square foot, 11-story office building was constructed in 2009. Along with the addition the project will provide rooftop improvements, including a bar, rooftop terrace, and lounge space, to provide a better rooftop experience for the office tenants.
In April it was announced that Fried Frank, an international law firm with strong roots in Washington, D.C., would remain the primary anchor tenant at the property after committing to a long-term lease. Fried Frank will continue to occupy nearly 103,000 square feet on floors five through eight in Lafayette Tower at 801 17th Street NW. The firm signed a 10-year lease extension to remain in the 11-story building through 2037.
