Pine Street Inn and The Community Builders Celebrate “Topping Off” of 3368 Washington Street in JP
Executives from Pine Street Inn (PSI), The Community Builders (TCB), RODE Architects and Cranshaw Construction came together yesterday for a “topping off” ceremony to celebrate a major milestone in the construction of 3368 Washington Street, which will be Boston’s largest permanent supportive housing development once complete. Local carpenters signed a 24-foot long prefabricated roof truss, adorned with the traditional evergreen tree and an American flag, that was elevated to the top of the five-story building.
The mixed-use development will include 202 new apartments; 140 will offer support services for individuals moving out of homelessness and 62 will be income-restricted for families. The design, by Boston-based RODE Architects, includes offices along with more than 13,000 square feet of community space. The new development replaces a PSI warehouse/office building.
