Revised Plans for Coquina Key Plaza in St. Petersburg Gain Approval
The revised plans submitted by developer Stoneweg for Coquina Key Plaza have been approved by the St. Petersburg Development Review Commission. The new mixed-use development would replace an existing strip mall. The new plans include nine four story buildings with 456 apartment units, 20% of which would be workforce housing, along with 20,000-square foot retail building in front of the apartments. Residential amenities will include a pool, clubhouse, fitness center, greenspace and a dog park. The original plans called for two seven-story apartment buildings with 465 apartments. The retail space will be anchored by a local grocery store and would include coffee shops and restaurants. Retail tenants could also include a salon, yoga studio, sandwich shop and pizzeria. The developer plans to begin construction on the first phase by the end of 2024. The first phase is expected to take 12-15 months to construct.
