Senior Living Development Breaks Ground in Jamaica
General contractor, , has broken ground on a 15-story, senior living development, at 97-04 Sutphin Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens.
Developed by , it will contain residential units. Included in that count are 121 units, which will be reserved for low-income seniors (aged 62 and older), and 52 units that will house formerly homeless senior adults with special needs.
The development will include a 15,000-square-foot medical clinic, situated on the ground floor, and operated by the Community Healthcare Network. The new building will be constructed in place of an existing, single-story office structure, which currently houses that clinic. Plans also call for community facility space, with a fitness center, a computer lab, a multi-purpose room, a library, and an outdoor garden space.
Designed by , the structure will stand feet tall and total square-feet. The project is expected to finish sometime in 2025. Since our last update, the building's design has been heavily revised from what was depicted in the previous rendering, shown below.
