TECO Planning Move to Midtown Tampa East

Tampa Electric Company, TECO, is planning to move from its current headquarters in downtown Tampa to the new Midtown Tampa East tower. The plans for Midtown Tampa East show a single tenant occupying 292,180 square feet, TECO’s downtown building is 285,621 square feet. TECO’s lease expires in 2025, which would align with the timeline of construction of Midtown East, which is expected to begin construction in late 2022 or early 2023 and take in tenants in 2025. The 17-story property will contain over 450,000 square feet with a 5,925 square foot penthouse on the top floor.  Midtown Tampa East tower is the latest addition to Midtown Tampa.  Comprised of roughly 22 acres, the Midtown Tampa Development opened in March 2021 creating a new residential and commercial district, uniting Downtown Tampa and the Westshore Business District. Located only four miles from Tampa International Airport the site has excellent visibility and connectivity, situated southeast of Interstate 275 bordering Dale Mabry Highway, Cypress Street, and Himes Avenue. These major commercial thoroughfares are known as “Main and Main” within the community. All interior roads are private which is perfect for outdoor concerts and events.
