Three stories of commercial space envisioned at long-vacant Savin Hill site
Developer James Baker recently unveiled plans for a three-story commercial development at the site of a long-vacant single-story retail building in Savin Hill he acquired for $850,000 last July. The development would include a market on the first floor, and upper floors could include restaurant, a cafe, a spa, or office space. Baker now has a purchase agreement for the abutting three-decker house at 10 Sydney Street, which raises the development's total land area to approximately 8,000 square feet. Construction of the development could commence this Fall, and is expected to start by next Spring.
