Tower Crane Erected at 250 East 83rd Street

General contractor, , has shared photos of the recent tower crane installation at 250 East 83rd Street; the site of a 32-story residential tower, going up in Manhattan's Yorkville neighborhood.

At this time, the building's concrete superstructure has only risen as far as the 8th or 9th floor. As more stories are constructed, further sections will be added to the crane periodically in order to increase its height.

According to , the tower crane is an essential piece of equipment for this job, since the building's design calls for heavy, pre-cast panels. The firm also noted that this particular crane features a hammerhead-style configuration, which is rarely used on projects in Manhattan, due to the inherent space constraints.

Developed by , 250 East 83rd Street is set to contain  rental apartments. Plans also call for  of ground-floor retail space.

Tenant amenities are to include a fitness center, a rooftop pool and lounge, a children's playroom, and a theatre room.

Designed by , 250 East 83rd Street will stand feet tall and total square feet upon completion. Valley Bank has provided $145 million in funding for the project and construction is expected to take until May of 2025.

The project site sits directly across the street from 300 East 83rd Street, where Lalezarian Properties is in the early stages of constructing a 22-story condo tower of similar, albeit smaller stature.
