Updated Plans Presented for Final Phases of Skyland Town Center
WCSmith has submitted updated plans for Blocks 1 & 4 within the Skyland Town Center. The previously approved plans for the 18.7-acre site called for a 130K SF medical office on Block 1 and 243,090 square feet of residential and 7,140 square feet of retail on Block 4. Now the development would feature 126 townhomes; an all-affordable Multifamily Senior Building with 75 units; and approximately 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail.
The site plan prioritizes open space with both smaller pocket parks that will serve short-term passive recreational use and Town Center Park, the large central park to the north of the Multifamily Senior Building. Town Center Park provides active leisure space for both residents and visitors with trellises for longer-term recreation, a flexible use plaza with concrete pavers, and a natural playground with a safety surface.
