Williamsburg Commercial Project Receives Approval
A proposed commercial project at 1 Wythe Avenue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn has just received approval. This comes well over a year after the applicant, , first requested a zoning special permit and a zoning text amendment in November of 2020. These are necessary in order to facilitate a new, story, commercial and industrial building. Designed by , it will stand feet tall and total square feet.
Prior to approval, the application had to be reviewed by the Community Board, Borough President, City Planning Commission (CPC), and City Council. After each of these of these committees voted resoundingly in favor of the project, the NYC Mayor's Office issued no veto, thus granting the final seal of approval. With the public review process out of the way, the project team can now file for building permits and get the ball rolling.
