Special Permit Under Review For Wildflower Studios
Robert De Niro's Wildflower Studios, has filed plans with the NYC Department of City Planning for their 495,000 square foot movie studio in Astoria, Queens. The developer purchased 5.25 acres of land from Steinway & Sons in 2020 and hopes to get the ball rolling on the Bjarke Ingels designed masterpiece once all the official review hurdles are cleared. The new building will feature 11 sound stages and accessory production facilities, arranged as a “studio village.” Plans for the project also call for a 30,000 square foot waterfront public access between the new building and Luyster Creek.
