Zoning Progress for Greenpoint Mixed-Use Project
A 10-story, mixed-use development at 840 Lorimer Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is now in public review. The Community Board is evaluating an application submitted by, Zucker Enterprises LLC, which requests zoning map and text amendments for the project. Developed by Equity Environmental Engineering, and designed by architect, Richard Bienenfeld, the building would have 74 residential units with some designated for affordable housing. There would also be around 31,000 square feet of commercial area, consisting of both local retail and office space. In addition, the proposed development would have cellar and ground-level parking. The applicant owns approximately 15,000 square feet of land, but with the help of these amendments, additional land from three neighboring parcels will be combined to facilitate the new development.
