When the firm was initially founded by Athanasios Amaxas, Konstantinos Amaxas, and Dimitrios Delengos, A.A.D. successfully performed subcontract work for larger firms in order to build assets and resources to advance to the next level. Slowly but steadily over the next two decades, the company grew to be one of the leading contractors for various city agencies such as the Department of Housing, Preservation and Development (HPD), New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the Department of Citywide Administrative Services (DCAS), Department of Design and Construction (DDC), the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) and the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation (BNYDC).
