Steel Work Expected to Kick Off Soon for 50 Rogers St. in Kendall Square Construction on the two-level underground garage at 50 Rogers Street in Kendall Square is nearly complete and steel erection is expected to start soon. The 6-story project will feature 136 rental units along with parking for 102 cars and 142 bicycles. The building that has been designed with cues from the historic industrial buildings in Kendall Square is expected to be complete in Summer 2020.

Innovation Point Acquired for $252 Million Alexandria Real Estate Equities has acquired the property at Innovation Point in Boston, MA for $252,000,100 from GE and MassDevelopment. The parcel consists of two historic six-story brick Boston Wharf Company warehouse buildings at 5 and 6 Necco Street and a section of the existing Gillette parking lot. Designed by Gensler, GE's approximately 2.5-acre, 390,000 square foot campus will restore the existing warehouses. Approximately 1.5 acres of public space will be constructed at Innovation Point, including a Harborwalk extension. The campus will also include a coffee bar and waterfront restaurant space on the ground floor.

Fort Point Parking Garage Sells for $81.1 Million The parking garage at 10 Necco Street in Boston's Fort Point neighborhood has been acquired by Alexandria Real Estate Equities for $81.1 million. The property features a six-story, 160,180 square foot parking garage that was built in 1994.


99 A Street

Life Sciences Building at 99 A Street Officially Under Review The proposed new 6-story life sciences building at 99 A Street in South Boston is now under review. The Elkus Manfredi designed project would include 210,000 square feet of life science and technical office space. A basement-level parking garage would hold around 76 vehicles and there could also be a small retail space on the A Street side of the building. Construction is anticipated to start in 2020 with completion by 2022. 


399 Binney Street

Construction Complete at 399 Binney in Cambridge Construction is now complete for the 164,000 square foot office, lab, and retail project at 399 Binney Street in Kendall Square.  Over 75% of the space is already spoken for with new tenants, Rubius Therapeutics, Relay Therapeutics and Celsius Therapeutics in the process of fit-out and move in. The building also features a green roof deck.

Work Ongoing for Below Grade Parking at 50 Rogers St. in Kendall Square Work is going for the two-level below grade parking garage that will hold just over 100 cars and 142 bikes at 50 Rogers Street. The project in Kendall Square will feature 136 rental units along with a landscaped courtyard and ground floor tenant amenity space. Construction is expected to be complete in Summer 2020.

Renovation Moves Forward at Innovation Point as GE Scraps Plans for New Tower Renovations of two historic buildings in Fort Point continue as GE announces it will scrap plans for the second phase of the project, a new 12-story tower. Instead of the original 800 person campus, GE’s headquarters now will have about 250 employees in the two refurbished buildings. GE plans to lease the buildings, after selling them and the adjacent land for the tower jointly with the state to recoup the $25 million tax incentive received from the city. At the site currently, structural steel for the glass enclosure connecting the two buildings has been erected and window install is ongoing. The crane on site is supporting the erection of the structural steel for the roof and the new 6th floor on the west building. Rough-in of interior walls and interior masonry restoration is also underway in both buildings. Construction is set to be complete by the middle of this year.

Alexandria Submits LOI for South Boston Life Sciences Development Alexandria Real Estate Equities has submitted a letter of intent for a new life sciences development at 99 A Street in South Boston, MA. The development would have a height of approximately 6 stories and 95 feet to the top of its roof, with a floor area of approximately 210,000 square feet, a first-level loading dock, and basement-level parking for approximately 75 vehicles.


50 Rogers Street

Site Work Underway at 50 Rogers Street in Kendall Square Site work is underway for the upcoming 6-story residential building just steps from busy Kendall Square. The project is set to include 136 units and two levels of below-grade car and bike parking. The building will also feature a common courtyard in the center of the U-shaped design.  


303 Binney Street

Demo Nearing Completion at 303 Binney Street Demolition of the Metropolitan Pipe and Supply Company warehouse at 303 Binney Street is wrapping up to make way for the upcoming 163,000sf office/lab project from Alexandria Real Estate Equities. Alexandria acquired the 3.63-acre site in 2017. The site is located steps from One Kendall Square, another Alexandria owned development.


399 Binney Street

Window Install Nearing Completion for 399 Binney Window install is nearing completion for the upcoming office/lab building at 399 Binney Street in Kendall Square. The 164,000 sf project will be part of the existing One Kendall Square campus.   Around 1,500 sf of retail space will be located along 399 Binney Street's ground floor fronting the existing pedestrian plaza leading to the Kendall Square Theater.

Renovations Continue for GE's Future Headquarters in Fort Point Renovations of two historic brick warehouse building at 5 & 6 Necco Court continue for GE's new Headquarters, Innovation Point.  In addition to restoring the warehouse buildings, the project will include a new 12-story 293,000 square foot building and 1.5 acres of public space.   All three buildings will be connected by a pedestrian walkway and the project will also extend Boston's Harborwalk. The first phase of the project, the renovations, are expected to be complete in the first half of 2019. Completion of Phase Two, construction of the new building by Suffolk Construction and creation of new public open space along Fort Point Channel, is expected in mid-2021.
