Chevron Partners Proposes Renovation/Addition to 727 Mass Ave Chevron Partners has submitted plans to the City of Cambridge for the renovation and addition to the former Gas & Light Building on Mass. Ave. Renovations to the building originally constructed in 1912, will increase and improve access to ground-floor retail space on Massachusetts Avenue, improve office space, and create a new elegant, sophisticated and intimate 37-room boutique hotel to serve and reinforce the diversity and vibrancy of Central Square.

Building Permit Issued for 256-260 Newbury St. Conversion to Boutique Hotel A building permit valued at $4.435M has been pulled for the renovations and addition to 256-260 Newbury Street. The project will add retail/restaurant space to the ground and first floors of the historic building with 17 apartment-style boutique hotel rooms on the upper levels. The proposal includes new MEPFP systems sprinkler and the installation of an elevator along with the construction of a new penthouse addition and roof deck. Construction is expected to last through the third quarter of 2021.
